Useimmiten korjauskierroksia on 2-3. Logon teko on pikkutarkkaa työtä.
Logo on valmis! Tallennan logon eri muotoihin, jolla varmistetaan logon toimivuus eri medioissa. Sitten se onkin aika ottaa käyttöön!
How I make a logo?
I’ve had an honor to design few logos during my career and today I’m telling you a bit about the creation process. I must say every commission is different but this is how it goes basically.
The first step is obviously to hear out the client. What do they do? Do they have any wishes how the logo should look? Some have a very clear vision, some give me the artistic freedom.
Once I’ve heard the client I do my own research. I get ideas by looking what others have done and by checking what kind of working equipment the client possibly uses. One can always play with the letters/words as well. With the knowledge I’ve gathered so far I start doodling. I doodle either on paper or on Illustrator. The client sees refined Illustrator versions.
I make several doodles to test my ideas. I pick few of the best and send them to the client. This is probably the most exciting part of the process because now I will see if I met the client’s expectations at all. No matter what’s the outcome this is a good point to continue developing and working!
I usually offer 2-3 editing rounds. Making a logo is precise work. I have to check that the logo works in different sizes and both in colors and black & white and that it’s in balance.
Now that I’ve done everything the client has asked me to do and I’ve ticked everything on the check list the logo is finished. It’s time to save it in different file formats for the best outcome in different mediums and the client is good to go with it.
